Capital Oil and Gas reiterates commitment to the Nigerian masses as Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah advices labour

Capital Oil and Gas reiterates commitment to the Nigerian masses as Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah advices labour In the wake of the just called off strike action by the labour unions and resultant fuel scarcity, Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has called on the various labour unions and their leaders to atleast engage in constructive negotiations and dialogue with all relevant stakeholders before commencing on future strikes rather than embarking on sudden strike actions without warning which eventually leaves the masses in misery.

While thanking labour for calling off the strike which has helped to alleviate the untold hardship caused by the action, Dr. Ubah pleaded with labour to consider and understand the plight of Nigerians who suffer immensely as a result of these strike actions, so that the country could move forward as fuel scarcity has the propensity to ground the economy of the nation if not properly managed.

He also reiterated Capital Oil and Gas' commitment to serving the Nigerian masses. "I feel the pulse of the masses, and this makes it unbearable for me during these difficult situations as it brings untold hardship to the people" Dr. Ubah added.

Dr. Ubah, whose Capital Oil and Gas' filling stations has been swarmed with Nigerians seeking to buy fuel, promised that Capital Oil and Gas will do everything within its means in conjunction with NNPC and all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the fuel supply situation improves drastically within the next two days. "Just yesterday, 9th of March, Capital Oil and Gas loaded out over 9million litres of PMS in line with NNPC's directives and we are poised to do more in the coming days to ease the suffering", Dr. Ubah affirmed.

Dr. Ubah concluded by thanking the management of the NNPC for their sincerity of purpose and innovative ideas while reaffirming his confidence in their quest to drive the oil and gas sector forward. He urged the masses to give the NNPC their full support and trust as they seek to put an end to the issue of fuel scarcity in Nigeria. Breaking news: Buhari sweeps off 184 top officials over Budget padding

By Soni Daniel, Northern Region Editor
President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday, made good  his threat to deal ruthlessly with top civil servants who altered figures in the 2016 budget thereby making nonsense of his zero budget plan.

No fewer than 184 top budget officials were flushed out of budget duties and sent to establishments that have little or nothing to do with budget, as a punishment for their roles in padding this year’s fiscal document, now before the National Assembly.

A top official in the Budget office confirmed that 22 top officers from the Budget Office of the Federation were affected in the mass deployment.

The rest were moved away from budget-related duties in other Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

Vanguard learnt that out of the 22 top officials indicted in the budget office, four were directors on Level 17, six were deputy directors while 12 were Assistant directors.

As the affected officials were moved from their posts in the Budget Office, 14 other directors said to have been ‘tested’ have been redeployed to the same office with immediate effect.
The order to remove the tainted officials from their previous posts to other duties, was conveyed to the affected offices by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation, according to finding by Vanguard.

All the affected officers, according to the directive, are to report in their new locations on or before the close of work today.
When contacted, the Media Adviser to the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr. Akpadem James, confirmed the development but declined to give further details.

It would b recalled that while in Saudi Arabia last month, President Buhari had threatened to punish all those who were involved in the padding of the budget.
Apart from removing the director of budget, he also merged the budget office with the planning ministry.

Tinubu's daughter accuses Buhari of abandoning Market men and women who voted for him

The Iyaloja-General and daughter of APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, has accused the Buhari led government of abandoning Market men and women who voted him into office. Folasade said this while speaking at a meeting between APC leaders and some market women in Abuja today March 10th.

“I am here this afternoon to represent the market women and men of Nigeria. There have been agitation. The people believe that the government of the day is not carrying them along as it should be; that they worked round the clock for the party during the campaign, but after the inauguration most of us are not carried along.

We only hear in the news that the first lady is doing a programme, this and that. And we just see it in the news, and they wouldn’t allow me be; all the complaints come to my table morning and night. And I say okay, enough is enough… We even heard that another FCT woman leader is organising another market association named Association of Organised Market People in Abuja, and most of these people are PDP members; they were nowhere to be found when we were working for the party day and night. So, now our people are not happy because they need to benefit from where they believe they have the right to, and all we need, all we are crying for, is for the government to give them a sense of belonging and carry them along properly”‎she said

She said the fact that her father‎ is a leader in APC doesn't stop her from saying the truth ‎

"Because I am the daughter of the national leader of APC doesn’t mean that I must not represent my people well. I have to represent my people’s opinion. I am a leader, and as a leader my people are crying foul, and I won’t fold my hands and keep quiet because my father is a national leader, it is wrong. I am not mobilising against the party, no. I am solidly behind the party, I have worked for the party before and I will still work for the party tomorrow, but that does not stop me from saying the truth.”

With the increasing rate of kidnapping, Betty Irabor advises parents to rethink posting photos of their children online

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Genevieve Magazine, Betty Irabor has advised parents to be cautious and to think twice before posting their children's photos online, as they could unknowingly be putting their children at risk. Below is what she wrote:
"With all the kidnapping going on, parents may need to think twice before posting pictures of their kids on social media.
I once saw a picture posted by an actor of himself and daughter in school uniform. I knew the school uniform because my daughter attended the same school. Imagine if someone wanted to kidnap that child; they know where to lay siege. Let's exercise restraint when posting family pictures as well as the information we inadvertently provide to those who may be predators"
