Oshiomhole Congratulates Buratai On Boko Haram War

Buratai-OshiomholeGovernor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai for his exemplary leadership style, which he noted has led to successes in the fight against terrorists.
The governor added that Buratai’s style motivates the officers and men in the war front against insurgents.
Speaking when the Army Chief paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin, on Wednesday, Oshiomhole said, “we in Edo State appreciate the leadership that you are providing for the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Nigerian Army in particular. We watch you on television and we see a very senior officer going to meet his officers and men right in the battle field, sharing the dust, the sun and all the deprivations, the sort of thing you sometime see in foreign countries. I think that you are leading by example in every sense of the word.
“Yes, Boko Haram has not exactly disappeared, but there is no doubt that they themselves will in their own way appreciate that things have changed, that the Nigerian side is better. They no longer have that audacity, that impunity to move freely without fear. So, you are doing a terrific job for Nigeria, and I believe that we are the beneficiaries, we the civilian population”.
He continued, “Nigeria doesn’t have boundaries, North East, North West, South East. It is just one. And I know that at a point, the Boko Haram elements had gotten up to Kogi. If that situation had continued, it was clear that by now some of us can’t sit here presiding over government affairs. So, we are very impressed with your leadership, we are impressed with your style, we are impressed and excited with your total commitment that people can see from your body language and from your action in the battle field. We can only pray that God will give you more strength, more wisdom and even better courage that this war which is already won that you sustain it, and in the very near future our brothers and sisters who have been displaced, some of whom are in Edo State, will have the confidence to be able to return to their various homes and get on with their lives the way it was before the word ‘Boko Haram’ ever emerged in our national discourse.
“Let me also thank you, sir, that your officers at the 4th Brigade under the leadership of the Brigade Commander, his officers and men; they have been very terrific in helping us to do what is not conventional in military duty, in complementing the efforts of the police in day-to-day security related issues. We have what we call ‘Operation Thunder Storm’, and your officers and men have been wonderful through that scheme helping us to maintain and to fight criminality, violent crimes, kidnappings and armed robbery. And you know when our people see the army uniform, it instills the sense of discipline in the people, and that is because the Nigerian Army has, in spite of the challenges you have had in terms of poor funding, or even diversion of funds, conducted itself in a way that it commands respect in the eyes of the Nigerian people”.
He added, “For us in Edo State, the army is part of the Edo community and we see the barracks as an extension of the community. And many of our children are attending schools that are located within the barracks. So, we are very thankful, very appreciative for the support that we have enjoyed from officers and men of the Nigerian Army under the brigade here in Benin.
“Yes, Boko Haram is still there, but obviously there is no doubt it no longer has that capacity to harass us. I think whatever they do now is like a dead snake, it might still continue to wriggle its body, but it’s dead. It is only with time that the teeth will be removed.
“So, congratulations on your efforts. I believe the Nigerian people appreciate. We also congratulate the Commander-in-Chief for his leadership. What has also come out in recent times is that no matter how serious the Nigerian Army is, if the Commander-in-Chief is not clear and doesn’t provide the right leadership, the army will to that extent be constrained. President Muhammadu Buhari is exactly the kind of person we need at this time, when Nigeria is in distress, we need someone to give all of us the sense of confidence. And there is a leadership that we can trust, a leadership that commands respect and a leadership with integrity”.
Earlier, Lt.-Gen. Buratai said he was on a familiarization visit to army formations and units in Edo State.
He said, “Your Excellency, I am here today in Edo State on a familiarization visit to my units and formations here within the 2 Division areas of responsibility. I was in Ibadan yesterday, and today I am here in Benin. I have visited the 4 Brigade as well as the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport.
“I am here to formally get myself acquainted with the officers and soldiers of the Brigade and also to assess their performances in various duties, both internal as well as the operation Pulo Shield as well as the administrative, logistics and operational challenges. So, Your Excellency, I deemed it necessary to pay you a courtesy call as a mark of respect and also as a mark of a very good relationship that has been existing between the good government of Edo State ably led by you and the Nigerian Army formations and units here”.
He said, “I want to appreciate most sincerely despite the short notice you accepted to host me this evening. I appreciate you Your Excellency, and I want to assure you that the Nigerian Army, in spite of its constitutional role will continue to support the state government in its discharge of its sensitive security responsibilities that have been enshrined and mandated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For this, I must commend the 4 Brigade for its good relationship not only with the State Government, but other security agencies, and this collaborative effort has really stabilized the security situation here, and I want to assure you that this will be maintained.
“The Nigerian Army will continue to observe the rules of engagement which are properly backed up with the necessary laws of the nation. And I want to assure you that the Nigerian Army will remain professional and remain responsive to the needs and aspirations of the State in terms of security. Thank you, Your Excellency. I am pleased to be here. I thank you for all the support”.

Saudi Prince Offers Kanye $10m To Spend One Night With Kim Kardashian

Saudi Prince Offers $10m To Spend One Night With Kim Kardashian
The public display by American rapper Kanye West of his financial difficulties, has brought him an unexpected offer from Saudi King Salman’s youthful son and heir, Prince Mohammed: $10 million for the opportunity to spend one night with his wife, reality television star, Kim Kardashian. Kanye West created a worldwide commotion in February, by bashfully announcing on Twitter that he was $53 million in personal debt. The impecuniousness, he noted, was the result of following his dreams in the fashion industry.
According to Scoop, the self-designated “greatest artist of all times” publicly solicited the help of Mark Zuckerberg, whom he asked for $1 billion to keep making art. He also said he would be willing to accept money from Google’s Larry Page or any other rich benefactor. No billionaire has answered his plea yet, but the Philadelphia Police has extended a helping hand and offered him a job as a police officer.
The Saudi Defence Minister, Prince Mohamad Bin Salman, made a controversial offer yesterday, during a press conference, that could solve Kanye West’s money problems. The powerful prince, who has an estimated wealth of more than a billion dollars, offered to pay the rapper $10M to spend one night with his wife. “I have no interest whatsoever in his music or his clothing,” Prince Mohamad told reporters, “but his wife, she is a treasure of inestimable value. I would gladly pay $10M or even more to spend one night with her.”
Neither Kanye West nor Kim Kardashian, have reacted to the offer yet, but it has already provoked violent reactions from various feminist organizations. In an interview with CBS, the spokeswoman for the Women’s Liberation Action Network, Jane Austin, called the offer “an insult to women across the world”, saying that it shows how women are still treated as objects is certain parts of the world.

Biola Giwa-Adeyemi, sister of the doctor killed in an accident caused by Nollywood actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima, says she should be made to face the law.
Biola, on Wednesday, shared an article which she labeled ‘Ibinabo Fiberersima Vs Lagos State’, in which she said the actress fled the scene of the accident without checking for any survivors, took her license plate and registration out of the car.
She added that people at the scene of the accident recognized her as Ibinabo Febresima, and said she was drunk.
She wrote: “On this faithful day of Feb 26th 2006, along the Lekki Epe Express way, my late brother, Dr. Giwa was driving with his brother and another family friend in his car coming from a meeting in Ajah, they were held up in a traffic around the evening time, when this tragic accident happened.
“Ibinabo was driving towards Lekki while the late Dr. Giwa was coming from the other direction facing towards Island, just by shop-rite, when ibinabo’s jeep flipped and lost control from her lane, it jumped over the culvert or pavement that demarcate the road from the oncoming vehicle.
“The speed that skipped and flipped a jeep over the road demarcation will be considered “Reckless and Endangerment” because the VIO department checked the jeep brakes, the engine and all the mechanical and electrical of the jeep but the result shows nothing wrong with the jeep and confirmed the accident as due to “OVER SPEEDING” in which the result was on record.
“After the accident, Ibinabo left the scene of the accident without checking for any survivors, she took the license plate and registration out of the car and fled from the scene, that was considered “HIT AND RUN”. The people at the scene of the accident recognized her as Ibinabo Febresima, and stated she was drunk.”Driving Under Influence” of whatever she had.
“The State Department of Transportation had to use the Vehicle Identification Number, VIN number to locate the Owner of the jeep, in which the owner was Daniel Wilson. That was my very first time of hearing the name of Ibinabo Febresima.
“The Doctor died at the scene of the accident because the jeep was on top of the Honda accord driven by him and they couldn’t save him on time because of the seat belt and the weight of the jeep, the brother and the other family friend in that car had survived. Did she know the state of mind and the emotional instability of the people involved in that accident up till now, Ibinabo has never been in a coma.
“After all the evidences against her, with the result of the VIO by the State department of Transportation, The DPP office took over and charged her to court and she hired Festus Keyamo in which after reviewing the case, he withdrew by saying he cannot represent her because it’s a bad case.
“Ibinabo was never remorseful, they brought her to meet with me shortly after my brother’s death in GRA Ikeja before my return back to the USA, but her only concern then was to drop the charges against her. I told her that it’s not my family Vs hers but the State Vs her, that where I come from in the USA, we do not interfere with the justice system, that they should do their job and advise her to apologize publicly to the masses and to the family and throw herself to the mercy of the court.
“She said and l quote “I CAN’T DO THAT, BECAUSE IS GOING TO DAMAGE MY CAREER!
“What an ego, she cannot apologize publicly, I feel like kicking her a*s. She’s worried about her stupid career, What happened to the career of the Doctor, who happened to be a Medical Director and the head of the department of physical rehabilitation medicine at General Hospital Lagos.
“On behalf of our family and friends, we really thank the Lagos State Government, the Attorney General, Mr Sasore, DPP, Mrs Odutola and colleagues, Justice Deborah Oluwayemi, Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur, Justice U.I Udukwe-Anyawu and Justice Tijani Abubakar and everyone for their support. No evil shall befall anyone. As you all go out and come in, may God’s grace and protection abide with each and everyone.
“Ibinabo has never paid a dime to any family member of the late Dr giwa as indicated by her friends, and if she did pay any family member, she needs to start mentioning names now.
“Justice at last, Justice is finally done,” she wrote.

Man to return millions to people he duped for online prayers

A Seattle man, Benjamin Rogovy, running a so-called Christian prayer website and other businesses has been ordered to return millions of dollars to consumers of all over the US  who paid for prayers, the Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson said Wednesday.

As part of an agreement,  he will pay back as much as $7.75 million to approximately 165,000 customers who were victims of his fraudulent business practices in several companies he ran.
Rogovy deceived a lot of people in his operation of the Christian Prayer Center. He created fake religious leaders and posted several false testimonials on its website to entice people to pay from $9 to $35 for prayers.

The Christian Prayer Center website, now shut down, showed a message Wednesday saying it is now closed, with links to other prayer sites it says it's not affiliated with.
"We thank you for all the prayers, and we cherish the opportunity to have created a place where Christians could meet to support each other," the message said.
People who bought prayer services from Christian Prayer Service or from its sister website Orcion Cristiana between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2015, have been told that they can receive a full refund.
