69-year-old Chinese father sues his three daughters for not visiting him enough

Yang Zhengyuan, a 69-year-old father of three from China's Sichuan province filed a lawsuit against his three daughters in March for not returning home to visit him 'frequently'. He claimed his daughters hadn't come home enough or given him enough financial support over the past ten years.

His daughters Yang Liu, Yang Qing and Yang Lan however hit back with a counterclaim accusing him of favoring boys over girls.

Yang Liu claims that her father beat her in her own office after she failed to give him the money he was demanding from her.

While Yang Qing said she was beaten by her father when she was pregnant: 'When I was a few months pregnant, he pulled my hair and beat me.'

They have provided copies of balance transfers sent to their father.

The family has been able to work out an agreement under which they will visit him twice a year and call once every month.

The mother of the girls, Xiao Liu confirmed the girls' allegations saying her husband favored boys over girls and used to beat her.

The daughters also argue that their father has shown a lack of interest in their personal affairs such as education, marriages and careers.

He admitted that he could have contributed more to his family but denies claims that he 'abandoned' his daughters.

Yang Qing told reporters: 'Even if he wins the case, we would lose our affection.'

Earlier this year China introduced a new rule that allows parents to sue their children for not seeing them enough.

Children who still refuse to visit their parents will be given a bad credit which may make it difficult for them to open bank accounts, take out loans and even have a library card.
The new law has an emphasis on 'coming home' rules.

During visits to their parents, the children have to provide financial and spiritual support to them.

It will be two great weeks of intriguing arts display, arts uncovering, acquisitioning and talent development lead by the prolific and renowned performing arts genius, Marie Idara Bassey.

Marie Performing Arts Academy has great history in nurturing and providing talents that have emerged atop of major performing arts competitions in Nigeria and beyond.

When Marie was 9 years old, her mother entrusted her training to Miss Vanessia Thompson (A dance instructor from Jamaica) and after years of enjoyable, rigorous and mind boggling training sessions, Marie graduated to becoming a dancer, choreographer and a trainer.

All this rehearsal and training didn’t deter Marie from going to school. In fact, she excelled in all things academic.
For the records, Marie Performing Arts Academy produced the winner of CGMI’s got talent 10years old Joanna Mshelia in 2011 and In 2013 Marie produced seven finalists and the eventual winner (Amarachi Uyanne) of Airtel’s Nigeria’s got talent. She also produced the winner of the 2014 edition (Robots for Christ). She continued from there to motivating and training other young stars like Emmanuel Osahor at GCGT 2016 and the award winning duo, Jesse Umoh and Oghomwen Edosomwan.

However, just like Marie’s mother did back then, you too could take advantage of this summer Performing Arts Camp to help develop that extra ability, skill and passion in your children and teens and make the best outta their holiday for their immediate future.

The performance camp will hold in a suitable and secure environment and would provide the options of camping or attending from home for attendees. For nine hours daily in two weeks, participants will go through rigorous fun and learning activities, leadership and entrepreneurial education classes, arts and crafts alongside the main performing arts curriculum.
So… if you seek to process raw talent into formidable strengths, MPAA and its amazing instructors offer professional and unrivalled training in dance (ballet, contemporary, hiphop, jazz and traditional), music (vocals and instrumentation), acting and visual arts with a determination to personally guide every student to the mastery of the well designed developmental courses. 'Those who burnt INEC office in Bori are afraid of elections' - Governor Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says that those who burnt the Bori office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, are the same politicians who wrote to INEC seeking postponement of the rerun elections on the ground of security.

Addressing journalists after inspecting the burnt section of INEC Khana Local Government Office in Bori, Governor Wike said the arson should not serve as an excuse for the elections to the postponed.

The governor regretted that politicians who are afraid of the rerun elections would go to the extent of burning down public facility to convince INEC that the rerun elections should be shifted. He noted that no election materials have been deposited at the office, pointing out that the burnt section only serve as a hall for collation

He said: "Those who burnt this office were not ready for the elections. They don't want INEC to conduct the elections because they know that they don't have the chances of winning. "They want to use the issue of security to justify the request for postponement. If not, INEC has not brought election materials to this office. What they have done is to scare INEC. "

He added: "For us, we are not surprised. We know this is what they have planned to do." He advised INEC not to be deterred by the arson. He noted that the commission should go ahead with the elections as scheduled. The governor directed the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the crime. He advised politicians not to see elections as a do or die affair, saying that they must submit themselves to the will of the people.

He said: "We will make sure that this does not dampen the spirit of INEC. I have directed the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Local Government Area to immediately rebuild the burnt office". The governor said that the state government will provide an alternative office for INEC to conduct the July 30 elections in the area. He said the people have been duly mobilised and they are ready to cast their votes. Earlier, the Khana Divisional Police Officer, Stephen Okunade said there was no security at the INEC office at the time of the arson.

He said the lone private security guard was absent when the perpetrators struck. He added that the private guard who has been detained only returned while the office was burning. The governor was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Uche Anozie and top government functionaries.

Amber Rose weighs in on Kim/ Kanye, Taylor Swift feud, defends ex-boyfriend Kanye

There may be bad blood between Amber Rose and Kanye West but the model and entrepreneur is definitely on the rapper's side as regards the ongoing feud between Kanye/Kim Kardashian and singer Taylor Swift.

Amber Rose who once dated Kanye West and had a heated Twitter battle with him earlier this year  doesn't believe the he would have lyrically slammed Taylor in his lewd "Famous" lyrics without her permission.

"So, I'm not the biggest fan of Kanye," she said on her Friday episode of "The Amber Rose Show."

"But I was next to him at the VMAs that year ... I remember the repercussions after that,"

"I remember Taylor's mother and father coming up to us and saying, 'One day Kanye, you'll have a daughter and somebody is going to do that to you,'" she recalled.

"He was so remorseful. I mean he really felt so bad, because it wasn't about Taylor. It was about BeyoncĂ© and her video ... he didn't want to interrupt Taylor — he didn't even know who she was at the time,"

"I watched Lady Gaga cancel the tour. I watched people say that they did not want to work with him anymore because of it," she explained.

"I know that Kanye would never ever go through that again by not calling Taylor and say, 'Heads up, I'm about to go write this verse real quick. Just wanted to make sure you're cool with it.' I know that about Kanye,"
