Civil Service Commission Disowns Advertisement For Recruitment

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has described as fake, a vacancy advertising for recruitment and asked Nigerians to ignore it.

It also stressed that it will not undertake any recruitment on social media.

“All Federal Civil Service Commission recruitment processes usually go through Federal Civil Service Commission’s website www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng and not on an unauthorised internet website or mobile line”, a statement by FCSC spokesman, Dr. Joel Oruche, said.

The statement described the current advertisement as fraudulent as it did not originate from the commission.

’ve not settled my fights with 2face, Wizkid, others – Blackface

Former member of the defunct Plantashun Boiz, Blackface, was recently in the eye of the storm when he accused his former label-mate, 2face Idibia and Wizkid of copyright thefts. Blackface, Tuface Blackface had claimed that 2face denied him credit in a song they wrote together while they were still in the same group. Meanwhile, it should be recalled that Blackface had also cried foul during the height of 2face’s ‘African Queen’ reign. Blackface stated that he was the one who wrote the song, and therefore deserves to get the credit and royalties from it. The matter was later resolved and Blackface was said to have settled. However, Blackface has refused to speak further about these weighty allegations. Showtime ran into him recently, and we sought to know the current situation, to which he said, “I don’t want to talk about those allegations anymore though they are not yet settled. Copyright will take care of itself at the right time. I’m not worried about issues right now.” Blackface also mentioned that he recently released a new album, ‘The Defender’ which he encouraged fans to get ‘because it’s a good album.’

I don’t take drugs for my energetic performances – Mr 2kay

Mr 2kay is known to be a very energetic performer on stage. This has led to insinuations that the dreadlocks-wearing artiste takes some substances to get high before mounting the stage. He however refuted these claims.”The only thing I take before a performance is food. I neither smoke nor drink, and I don’t do drugs. All I do is pray, and God does the rest for me,” he stated. Speaking on his recent activities, 2kay enthused, “I’m doing a lot of things at the moment. I’m working on my album. I’m also planning to go on an European tour either by September or October. I’ve also been involved in a couple of charity projects as well.” The ‘Who no like better thing’ singer literally blushed while recounting the   massive love he was showered with during his recent homecoming concert in Bonny Island. He exclaimed, “I’ve been out of the homeland for a while, and I decided to come back and do something for my people because they miss me so much. They have also been very supportive, and there was a huge turn-out of guests at the concert. My mentor, Faze, Banky W, Beverly Osu, Uti Nwachukwu, Pencil, Kenny Blaq and other artistes also came through for me. The event was actually organized by NLNG, an oil company that operates in my home town.”

I don’t like listening to my own songs – Monica Ogah

One-time Project Fame winner, Monica Ogah has stated that she doesn’t like listening to her own songs after recording them. According to her, “I don’t have a favourite song out of all my songs because I believe in everything I put out; they all have potentials. However, I don’t like to listen to my songs, because I tend to criticise myself a lot.” On what she’s been up to recently, the busty songstress ventured, “I’ve just been working lately trying to put more singles and videos out there. I do have a couple of special projects though. I’m working with some big names in the industry, and we’ll be shooting a video soon. But I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag by revealing their identities now.” Monica also dismissed claims that there is some sort of rivalry between past Project Fame winners hence their decision not to work together. She quipped, “I’ve worked with Chidinma already. I think we’re all busy, trying to get our acts together right now. There certainly will be collaborations, but it’s not now.”

I grew up singing in my local church at a tender age. I actually was a praise and worship singer at my local church having been brought up in a Christian family. A story of an abandoned 14 year old boy at Umuahia Prisons

The story you are about to read discloses one of the pathetic yet interesting cases that ABSU Law Clinic, through its services to the community is handling. It is pitiable to see that in a world where it is loudly proclaimed that children are the leaders of tomorrow, a 14 years old boy, lavishes behind bars for roughly 2 years for a crime he has not been convicted of.

Even as an orphan, his potentials has made him a cynosure at Umuahia prisons, Afara, where he has been remanded all this while. His name is Chima Chimaroke and this is his story;
Chima Chimaroke was born in January 2001 into the family of the Chimas, from Umuekwuele in Afugiri, Umuahia, Abia State. Unfortunately for him he lost his parents and only twin brother at a very tender age.

Despite these challenges Chimaroke exhibited swift learning abilities that led him to acquire skills in phones and other electronics devices repair. He further harnessed his swift learning abilities at Umuahia prisons where he is a barber and the sole shoe maker.

Just as a man on a swing sways in whatever direction the wind blows, Chimaroke was soon swallowed up in social vices as he lacked the attention, love and direction he would have gotten from his late parents. As a boisterous  young man, he began to fend for himself by hawking Lacasera and Gala on the streets as the family he found himself in had no eye for him.

He was introduced into the world of crime by his co-hawkers who compelled him to stand as a lookout while they carried out their devious plans. As a fresh man in the world of crime, he was the only one arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery whilst the ringleaders are graciously at large.

Through the joint efforts of the ABSU LAW CLINIC and the office of the Chief Judge of Abia  state, Chimaroke was granted bail during the jail delivery that took place on the 4th of May, 2016.  But we are faced with a problem, thus;
Chimaroke is an orphan with no immediate relatives except for his stepmother and step brothers. The stepmother has refused to have anything to do with him and has gone on to prevent her children from helping out. Saying that China is an "abandoned government property". It was a herculean task for ABSU LAW CLINIC to locate, communicate with and convince one of his step brothers to sign Chimarokes bail bond. Although by Gods intervention he agreed to sign but on the condition that Chimaroke is not welcomed in their home as their mother  would not allow it. He said he could only sign it if we could provide accommodation or a place to rehabilitate Chimaraoke.
The problem now is DO WE RELEASE CHIMARAOKE TO A FAMILY THAT SEES HIM AS AN ABANDONED GOVERNMENT PROPERTY  OR DO WE RELEASE HIM BACK TO A WORLD OF CRIME?

Chimaroke needs to be taught love where he has seen hate, peace where he has seen chaos, a home where he has been left on the streets.
Chimaroke need YOU to harness his talent where his talent has been left dormant.
His stay in the prison has done more harm than good to him and the society  at large, as he would  be molded from the things he learns now. Chimaroke is susceptible to change and only needs the right hands to lead him aright. 

The ABSU LAW CLINIC calls on non-governmental organizations, individuals to help provide a home and a means of livelihood for Chimaroke. We see a lot of potentials and possibilities in Chima and we want you to join in his progress.  As it stands, we are the only ones the little boy has. His only hope    It is one of our duties to the community.
